International Leadership Awards in Geriatrics and Gerontology

The Brookdale Institute on Aging has issued a call for nominations for their
first leadership awards in geriatrics and gerontology. In the Spring of 2005, $100,000 awards will be presented to an outstanding contributor to the fields of geriatrics and gerontology. Nominations are anticipated from all over the world.

The selection criteria will include lifetime achievement contributions, along with leadership and excellence in the field of aging. The geriatrics category will include biomedical sciences, and the gerontology category will include the social, behavioral and/or humanities fields.

The nominations are due at The Brookdale Institute on Aging office in New York by July 2, 2004. Award announcements will be made in November 2004. Recipients must attend and will be expected to present on their area of expertise and accept the award at the Institute's Spring 2005 retreat.
