CALL FOR PAPERS
The Journal of Social Work in End-of-Life and Palliative
Care announces a Call for Papers for a Special Issue
highlighting the research of the Hartford Geriatric
Scholars.
You are eligible to submit a manuscript if you have
received a grant award from the John A. Hartford Foundation
through the Hartford Faculty Scholars Program in Geriatric
Social Work or through the Hartford Doctoral Fellows
Program in Social Work (1999-2004).
Due date for submission of manuscripts for this special
issue is July 1, 2005.
For this special issue, manuscripts that report results
of empirical research conducted relevant to and that
has implications for social work practice and policy
in end-of-life and palliative care are appropriate for
submission. Both qualitative and quantitative research
manuscripts are encouraged. All topics related social
work practice (particularly evaluation of interventions),
policy, research, and issues of human behavior in end-of-life
and palliative care across a range of settings (home,
hospital, hospice, assisted living, etc) or pertaining
to specific diseases (cancer, heart disease, AIDS, dementia,
etc) will be considered. Further, manuscripts containing
research completed specifically through your grant period
or that was informed by research completed during your
grant period are appropriate.
The Journal of Social Work in End-of-Life and Palliative
Care is a refereed professional journal and is published
quarterly by Haworth Press. The charter issue of the
journal will be published Spring, 2005.
Submissions guidelines: Manuscripts should be no more
than 20-25 pages including references and tables, however,
longer manuscripts may be considered. Basic APA style
should be followed. Include a 100-150 word abstract
and 5 key words.
Four copies of the manuscript should be mailed to: Ellen
