American Perceptions of Aging in the 21st Century

The National Council on the Aging (NCOA) has published American Perceptions of Aging in the 21st Century, a research publication in their Myths and Realities of Aging series, that highlights the findings of a 2000 survey NCOA conducted examining attitudes toward aging among adults.

This chart book provides analysis using the 2000 survey results and provides a comparison of today's findings with the outcomes of a 1974 survey in which NCOA first investigated the public's attitude toward aging.
